Within every family there are secrets that are never spoken of that swept under the carpet, but the unseen and unspoken have a habit of making themselves heard further down the line. We are not isolated, we are connected. The fabric of our soul is linked with that of our family. It is woven within the hearts of our mother, our father, our siblings and our ancestors. When we think only in terms of ourselves as individuals, we lose sight of who we really. To truly be connected with who you are and to stand strong and independently we must first look to where we come from. Should we not get on with our family, if we have had a difficult childhood or suffered trauma within the family, a natural instinct can be to disconnect and disengage, denying our link to all that pains us and seeking freedom and identity via another path. In doing this we risk disengaging from life itself. We often sabotage our place within our emotional relationships as well as our working lives. The likelihood also is that the more we try to separate ourselves from a particular entanglement within the family the closer we wrap the vines of the entanglement around our very soul. The memories of our ancestors run through our blood.

Some years ago I was booked for a minor-day case-out patient operation to help me have children in which I was to leave the hospital on the same day. Shortly before my appointment my dear little dog Jac passed on in my arms after 10 years of her wonderful love and company. They age too rapidly and I was broken hearted. From day one I had had experiences of her so knew she was just outside my normal reach. Friends Jenny and Dave came to stay. The day after they were due to leave I was to travel to hospital for this minor medical procedure. On Jenny’s last night at our home I had a dream which I can only describe was not a dream to me but a choice to live or die, similar to that that many near death experiencers have.

‘The Arcanas of the Star’ Card Pack by Philippe Rouchier contains figurative colour artwork designs for each of the 22 major arcana tarot cards. The images are ultra contemporary and highly stylish and many carry an interesting gender and conceptual ambiguity which allows deep expression of the imagination and intuition. The cards have black backs with a yellow central circle within a geometric design of a star. The pack also contains a 42 page explanatory booklet written in both French and English of traditional upright card concepts. There is a suggested spread of ten cards and questions are provided to assist the reader. I used this ten card suggested spread for a simplified and personal interpretation.

A trip to the North East of Scotland in the October sunshine, we managed to choose the one week of sunny weather which was really quite fortuitous. We had been invited to go and see the new Crystal House Retreat at The Richmond Hotel in Strathpeffer. Our inherent nosy nature aside it didn’t take much to persuade us to detour from the Black Isle as we have old family ties and memories from the area.

Wow what a quick month it has been; time is certainly speeding up as we move forward on our ascension pathway! This month has given rise to great energetic shifts within and on the surface of the earth. I am sure you can feel this too as the shifts reverberate out in to your lives bringing much change, and a deeper connection to our spirit within. Perhaps much emotional unrest too as feelings and energies continue to surface for clearing and healing. This has been mirrored in my personal life as October has been a wild ride of emotion, challenge, change and healing for me and those around me. A time for cleansing out the old and welcoming in its place the deep sense of oneness with everything around.
