Some years ago I was booked for a minor-day case-out patient operation to help me have children in which I was to leave the hospital on the same day. Shortly before my appointment my dear little dog Jac passed on in my arms after 10 years of her wonderful love and company. They age too rapidly and I was broken hearted. From day one I had had experiences of her so knew she was just outside my normal reach. Friends Jenny and Dave came to stay.  The day after they were due to leave I was to travel to hospital for this minor medical procedure. On Jenny’s last night at our home I had a dream which I can only describe was not a dream to me but a choice to live or die, similar to that that many near death experiencers have.

From the interpretations of dreams, examinations of bones and entrails, lines in the hands, marks in the earth, flights of birds, the casting of runes, the words of an Oracle, scrying, the meanings of tarot cards, astrology, and dancing until one becomes dizzy; never mind the reading of tea leaves, apple, water and food divination human beings have been seeking answers for many thousands of years, despite what various religions have decreed.

Channelling is an immensely ancient ability that was used by many early civilisations. It involves speaking to Spirit and listening for a reply. However, there are many types from different realms, including negative and destructive ones, so it is important to contact a spirit that has something constructive to impart. In the past, due to the need to identify and avoid low level spirits, the personality of the deity and the value system of the deity became defined, such as whether they were kind, peaceful and generous - or whimsical, mean and punishing.

A trip to the North East of Scotland in the October sunshine, we managed to choose the one week of sunny weather which was really quite fortuitous. We had been invited to go and see the new Crystal House Retreat at The Richmond Hotel in Strathpeffer. Our inherent nosy nature aside it didn’t take much to persuade us to detour from the Black Isle as we have old family ties and memories from the area.

Our new guilty pleasure is the Great British Bake Off on BBC 2 where ten homebakers have been taking part in a 'bake off', which has been testing every aspect of their baking skills as they battle it out to be crowned the Great British Bake Off's Best Amateur Baker. We our now down to the final 3 (yes we are aware this means we have been watching this for 7 weeks...). It is hosted by comedy duo Mel & Sue, there is something refreshing about the absence of "Cooking doesn't get any tougher than this" segways a la masterchef. Anyway...in honour of the Great British Bake Off and lets be honest our complete and utter love of chocolate we have an exciting competition for you :)
