The WHG Magazine are delighted to welcome on board Bernie Rowen our new resident astrologer who will be filling us in on what is in store for the month ahead. Bernie is a tarot reader and astrologer and she holds other qualifications such as  Natural Medicine and counselling from Reiki to clinical hypnotherapy and holds a diploma in Adult Education from the University of Cape Town she is registered with Independent Professional Therapists International as well as Tarot Professionals and the Spiritual Workers Association. She will also be contributing a monthly Tarot feature as well as her astrology column, we hope you enjoy reading her words as much as we have.

Leo
It is your birthday month, and this should spell excitement. Your ruling planet is the Sun and it is in your sign this month, and if you know anything about astrology, you will see that it is in positive aspect with Uranus, the erratic, genius, electrifying planet! So if you are highly strung, I suggest more meditation and relaxation than you would normally. Fortunately, this only lasts for a few days and then there is some positive energy coming in from optimistic Jupiter, and this would affect both creativity and fun, so give yourself permission to have fun this month, and just be a little cautious about over indulgence. If you are looking for positive change in your life it will more than likely be in you’re the area of spiritual life, and it does help to connect to like minded people.

Virgo
You may feel a bit introverted this month, but don't let that worry you sometimes it is good to keep your thoughts to yourself. It may also be that a secret is to be revealed, or kept; it is honestly sometimes good not to tell all every time your friends pressure you to, your private life is private! Group work might appeal to you at the moment, and you may find that you will learn a lot about yourself and others in a group situation or are you thinking of a family get together? It could be fun or at least transformative, have a look quietly at the dynamics between family members, who is playing out what. Go with your intuition it is quite sharp at the moment, and maybe this a time to develop it.

Libra
Your home and emotional life seem to be in the spotlight this month, there are changes afoot, are you redesigning your bathroom, or are you clearing space for something new to happen in your life? This is a great time to clear out negative energy in your life, especially in your immediate environment. How about investing in a new piece of art, or doing it yourself? This time seems to be about your surroundings, enjoy them and if you don't change as much as you can. It is in your nature to care about others, now is the time to care about your surroundings as well.

Scorpio
Your brothers or sisters may be on your mind this month, or at least people who are very close to you in that role, if you have strained relationships with them, it may be the time to start talking to them and see what you can heal within the family. On the practical side, you have a lot of energy at this time, so get outside, and garden if you can, or at least you can do some exercise enjoy the satisfaction of feeling truly tired afterwards. Work is also taking priority, and you may feel that there is just so much going on but, enjoy this flurry of activity because later in the year it calms down.

Sagittarius
There is certainly a call to harness your creativity and enjoy the time of change, and truly embrace what you are learning about yourself. As a Sagittarian with the planet Jupiter as your ruling planet you could take on too much, but this month there is so much growth potential, that I encourage that added dimension to your life, you are curious by nature and you need to satisfy your curiosity. If you are working, you could find that you need to look at things from a new perspective, one that has not been thought of before and implement new ideas, but don't forget to discuss it with all concerned as sometime Sagittarians run away with their own genius!

Capricorn
Your ruling planet Saturn is a planet that makes you loyal, steadfast, and trustworthy, at the moment it is opposite Uranus, an erratic planet that forces changes in our thinking and experience. You may want to do things in a certain way but because of technology or just plain advancement, you have to change your ways, and this is not easy for you, take heart, there are great things ahead, all you have to do it to have the confidence that you can do what you want to do. Give yourself credit where credit is due, because others actually do see you as a capable person, and right now it seems that your focus in your career, or at least your public appearance. Dress up, take care of yourself and you will create a great impression.

Aquarius

This month seems to be one where you will be communicating with loved ones, and friends as well as colleagues so get your communication hat on and chat! Keep it meaningful and not in any way confrontational, and this will bring rewards. Change is on the cards, but let's faces it that is life! If we remained static, life would be boring. Generally speaking Aquarians don't do dull well! They enjoy a bit of colour in their lives, it may be a good idea to transform some part of your life right now, so how about adding more colour to your wardrobe? Even if it is just a new scarf or shoes, whatever it is let it be colourful!

Pisces
Early in this phase you will find that your emotions may feel a bit out of sorts, don't take anything to heart this passes by the beginning of August and your focus will then be back to some routine work and keeping your daily activities in order. You may need to deal with that aspect of your life in quite a bit of detail now, and it would be good to get your filing and your accounts in order now. Your traditional planetary ruler Jupiter is having a bit of a dance with erratic Uranus, so having your finances in order is very important now. You may find that you get assistance in this area from an unusual source.

Aries
You may find that your energy is quite different this month and that you are in the headspace of changing things to suit yourself. You know sometimes that is just fine, but for this time put yourself on hold for a few days, and see what comes up, wait watch and listen, your ruling planet Mars is all about action, and sometimes going ahead at full steam. It is possibly contrary to your nature, but chill out this month, if you can go and have a massage, or even a reflexology treatment, anything that will help you to relax.

Taurus
If you enjoy cooking then have a dinner party towards the end of the month, invite some close friends and celebrate life, the summer or whatever you can find to celebrate. Your creative abilities will lead to other interesting conversation and who knows it may even lead to other interesting relationships, if you are single. Short journeys and meeting up with people who you are close to is the name of the game in this time, sending off an e-mail that you have been meaning to do may pay dividends that surprise you! Have fun above all!

Gemini
You may find that unusual or unconventional people come into your life through your work, this can allow you to see their point of view and enjoy the challenge of seeing things differently, there is nothing like learning from some-one else to enhance your perspective on life. You are often quite chatty and love learning new things, so this is a great phase to learn something completely different. If you plan to do something unusual make sure why not find out who the artist in your family history was, or who the psychic was. Or you may want to learn something more esoteric, this is the time to explore!

Cancer
For the sensitive home loving Cancerian, this is a month of where your emotions can run riot, and maybe you won't recognise it because it is so deep. Be kind to yourself, remember that there are people around who specialise in dealing with psychic and metaphysical things who can help. It is important for you to surround yourself with loving people and familiar surroundings, so don't go rushing around too much, and don't over work or exert too much energy at one time, it is the time for candle lit baths and lovely fresh food. You are worth it!
