Having been asked by The Witch Hiker to test out Oxygen as a hangover cure my first task was to create a hangover worthy of testing (not my forte I must admit!). A night of, sin of sins, mixing my drinks and by-passing my usual week's supply of water and, lo, the following morning I had successfully achieved my aim of a hangover worthy of testing!
This, however, made the journey to Reecharge, in Ruthven Lane Glasgow, more challenging than it should have been, and armed only with my biggest, darkest sunglasses was I able to make it to my destination. Once there I was taken care of by Fiona who was very sympathetic to my delicate state, although she never did admit to me whether she had ever tried to beat the restorative powers of oxygen.... I was given a choice of two oxygen bars each containing four different flavours, given a small nose piece which sits under your nose and hooks behind the ears. Attractive? Not by a long shot, but comfortable and essential. I was able to switch between the different flavours at will, my favorite of which was vanilla bean. I spent a relaxing thirty mins on the machine with a stack of magazines and relaxing music and calming environment. The knowledge I was benefitting from breathing in made me concentrate on it more, increasing my appreciation of the therapy. By the end my complexion had more colour to it, my headache vanquished and my energy boosted. I found I was able to face the cloudy day sans sunnies, I was able to manage a full day of shopping and I could even contemplate the idea (and reality) of eating without heaving! Given the remarkable difference between my state on arrival and on departure, I can officially testify to the restorative powers of oxygen, and I'll definitely be back before, during and/or after Freshers' Week!
